今日はB747SRの第4回　特徴の3回目です。

地味なネタですが、今日は客席の数について。

B747-100は登場当時化け物かと思うくらい大きな飛行機で、ファーストクラス、ビジネスクラス、エコノミークラスの3クラスで366座席、2クラスで452座席乗ることが出来ました。


それをベースに、ローンチカスタマとなったJALでは、498座席と500座席に迫る座席拡大をしました。
SRはショートレンジ用ですから最大のっている時間は3時間程度。
そのための割り切りをしています。
1)座席の前後間隔を狭める。
2)料理や飲み物のサービス簡略化によるギャレー数の削減。
3)2階へのアクセスを螺旋階段から直線階段にし、デッドスペース削減。

1)はお客さんには我慢してもらう方向だけど短時間だったら許してもらえる幅まで縮めたと言うことですね。
2)は食事サービスが不要となりますからその分ギャレーを取り外し、座席空間として活用です。
3)については私が飛行機を活用するようになったときすでにこうなっていたので違和感はないわけですが、キャビンアテンダントがそのおみ足を見せるサービスも割愛となったのは、当時の成人男性には残念だったのではないでしょうか。

このときの座席数競争JALとANAで有りましたね。
確か550座席くらいまで増えたのではと記憶しています。

ハワイに行った時はさすがにエコノミーの席で
寝るのはつらかったですね。
3時間ぐらいでしたら狭くても何とか・・・

747は千歳⇔羽田しか乗ったことがありません。
1時間ちょっとなので、充分我慢できます。
