自動車用燃料としてのアルコール(エタノール) 第6回 ガソリンに席巻されたその影に国として、会社としての利害有り 現在もエネルギーの主権争いは続いている [科学技術 テクノロジー]

目次 科学技術(テクノロジー)

第4回、第5回の2回に渡ってガソリンと、エタノールのどちらが自動車用燃料として優れているか3つのポイントで書いてきました。
[1]生産量(生産速度)
[2]生産コスト
[3]パワー
いずれもガソリンの方が上です。
と、ここまで文章を書き進めたところでウィキペディア日本語版の文章に目がとまりました。
ガソリンに舵を切ったのは上記3つの条件が整ったからだけではないようです。

ゼネラルモーターズ(GM 言わずとしれた世界の名だたる自動車会社)が1920年頃自社の自動車がガソリンを使うことで優位に立てるという戦略から石油会社と一緒になってガソリンを広めたようです。
1920年当時は中東での石油調査は始まっていましたが大油田の発見は1938年を待つことになります。
石油をたくさん売りたいアメリカ国内の石油会社と性能でアピールしたい自動車会社の利害が一致した結果、自動車用燃料としてガソリンがその地位を獲得が早まったと言えると思います。

暮らしが便利に、しかも安価に実現できる方法に飛びつくのは当たり前です。
当時の人間(現在もほとんどの人間がそう思っているようですが)地球は汚し続けても勝手に自浄作用で綺麗にしてくれるくらいに思っていたと思います。
汚しているという感覚さえなかったのでは。現在の人間でも地球を汚していると思っている人の割合はとても少ないのではと思っていますから、当時はもっと少なかったと想像します。
エネルギーを生み出すために汚した地球を浄化するコストが全てのエネルギーに課されるようになるまで、人間の考え方は変わらないのでしょうか。

エタノール、シェールガスの利用が取りざたされていてニュースや新聞にも取り上げられるようになりました。
脱石油は、環境問題、エネルギー枯渇、二酸化炭素排出抑制と言った単語によって人々の関心を引きつけています。
でも、その裏ではエネルギーの主導権争いがあると思います。
シェールガス、エタノール(トウモロコシ由来)はアメリカが推し進めている政策は中東からのエネルギー価格主導権奪還を狙ったものであると思っています。

シェールガス等については別途記事にしたいと思っています。

次回は、このシリーズの主題であるエタノールについて、エネルギー主導権争い度外視で本当にエタノールは佳いものなのか書いてみたいと思います。

僕が子供の頃から石油はあと30年と言われていました。
新しい油田の開発や採掘技術の進歩が有ったのでしょうが、
必ず限りはありますよね。次の車どうしようかなあ。

And he obviously started as he meant to go on, as like his mainline show, Vuitton marched to a distinct Eighties beat. <br><br>Balloon puff shoulders, bubble skirts, leggings and peplum jackets reigned supreme, while naturally for a luxury leather label, accessories were in abundance, from the season&#039;s favoured thigh-high boots, to gilded monochrome bags, layers of leather necklaces and bags. <br><br>And it wasn&#039;t only the fashion industry who stuck around to see it all, the slew of A-listers continued right up until the final shows, with going high fashion, and taking her front row seat at Vuitton, while at Miu Miu, Hollywood faces Eva Mendes and Jessica Alba sparked a flashbulb frenzy.</p><p></p><p></p><p></p></p><p>It has been revealed that Miuccia Prada, renowned fashion designer and President of Fondazione Prada, will announce the winner of the Turner Prize 2010 during a live broadcast of the award ceremony on 6th December.<br><br>In 2005, Miuccia was chosen by Time Magazine as one of the 100 most influential people in the world &lsquo;for having provoked and influenced colleagues for years with her eccentric and highly personal sensibility.&rsquo;<br><br>The prestigious , established in 1984, is presented annually to a British artist under the age of fifty for an outstanding exhibition of their work.<br><br>Intended to promote public discussion of new developments in contemporary British art, the Turner Prize is widely recognised as one of the most esteemed awards for the visual arts in Europe.<br><br>The 2010 exhibition features work by the four short-listed artists, who include Dexter Dalwood, Angela de la Cruz, Susan Philipsz and The Otolith Group and is open to the public at the Tate Britain until 3rd January 2011.<br><br>The winner will be chosen by a jury including Isabel Carlos (Director of Centre of Modern Art) Philip Hensher (Writer, critic and journalist) Andrew Nairne (Executive Director at Arts Council England) Polly Staple (Director of Chisenhale Gallery) and Penelope Curtis (Director of Tate Britain).<br><br>This year&rsquo;s prize fund is &pound;40,000, with &pound;25,000 going to the winner and &pound;5,000 to each of the three short-listed artists.<br><br>Come and see the exhibition for yourself at the , open daily from 10am until 5.30pm and until 10pm on the first Friday of every month. <br><br>Tickets are &pound;8 (or &pound;6 concessions) and can be purchased by visiting or by calling 020 7887 8888.<br><br><br><br><br></p><p>It&#x92;s great to hear &#x92;s search for a soulmate hasn&#x92;t slowed down &#x96; she&#x92;s now reportedly dating the lighting technician from her latest movie.<br>
