パサート8バリアントの試乗記事です。
荷物室での印象を書いております。今日は続きです。

[荷物室内の登載品を絶対に見えないようにする工夫]
最近のステーションワゴンを知らないので当たり前のことかもしれませんが感動したので書きます。
1)トノカバーの握り部に蓋が有る。
トノカバーはご存じのように後部座席背もたれ上部付近に巻き取られ、先端部を持って引き出す帯状の装備です。
高さは窓下端位。
荷物室に格納している荷物を外から見えないようにする、荷物が暴れて搭乗員に怪我をさせない役割があります。

先端部には指をかける穴が有り、トノカバーを出し入れするときに持ち安いようになっています。
パサート8バリアントでは、この穴部に蓋が付いていて指を穴から抜くと穴がふさがれるようになっています。
100 mmm x 30 mm 位の穴ですが中が見えない、中から物が飛び出さない工夫に感心しました。 蓋はトノカバー先端部下側にありますから、下から物が飛び出そうとジャンプしても蓋が閉まるだけで外に飛び出すことはありません。

2)トノカバーでカバー出来ないリアハッチとの隙間は、リアハッチの窓枠材を出っ張らせてカバーします。
どの車でもしている工夫なのかもしれませんが、テスターは初めて気がつき、心細やかな作りに感心しました。

[後部座席背もたれは楽に倒せて荷室広がる]
パサート8バリアントでは、後部座席の背もたれを倒す方法として、荷室の壁面に埋め込まれているレバーを引くと言うやり方があります。
ゴルフ7バリアントにもあるようですが、テスターは初体験です。
レバーは、リアハッチの開口部に立った状態で手が届く場所にあります。

長い荷物を持ってきた。ハッチを開け、入れてみたけれど入らない。
こんな時に、
1)荷室に這って入り、背もたれにあるレバーを引く、
2)サイドに回り後部ドアを開け背もたれを倒してまたリアハッチ前に戻る、
ような動作をしなくて済むのは便利でストレスを感じず佳い機能だと思います。

[小物入れにも広い荷室にも]
荷室内のタイヤハウスとリアハッチの間に高さ50-80 mm位の仕切りがあり、小物を格納するのに便利そうです。
よく見るとUPと言う言葉と↑が見えます。
表示に従い引っ張り上げると、抜けました。
抜けた後は仕切り壁がありませんから広い荷室が更に広くなりました。
(タイヤハウスより後ろですが)
左右共です。
なーんだそんなものかと思われるかと思いますが、テスターはこのような細やかな気配りが好きです。

後日談になりますが、テスターのG7にも似たようなのを見つけたのでやってみたら・・・、抜けました。
2年間全く気付かず。
うーん、まだ何か宝物が埋まっているかもしれません。
言い訳。 UPとか書かれていないし↑もない。

次回はもう少しだけ荷物室関連の事について書いてから、車外で印象に残った事について書こうと思います。
