アクアG'sの試乗メモ3回目です。
今日は走りについて書きます。

走り始めてすぐ分かるのはそのすごいエンジンの拭け上がりとトルク感！更には耳をつんざくようなエグゾーストノートが！！

と、書きたいところですが・・・。

[アクセルレスポンスはまんまノーマル]
G'sのアクセルレスポンスは全くオリジナルと変わりありません。
燃費の良さが売りのハイブリッドシステムを作り上げて今の設定になっているので、エンジン+モーターのチューニングをするコストが見合わないのでしょうか。
でも、TRDやモデリスタからスポーツマフラーセットが販売されています。
(G'sに装着できるか記載がありませんので望み薄ですが)
スポーツマフラーだけで音と気持ちだけかも知れませんが車の性能が上がった気分を味わえます。
出来ればマフラーまで付けていただければありがたかったなと。

他に車を知らないなら何も思わなかったのかもしれませんが、フォルクスワーゲンのポロGTIやポロブルーＧＴ(こちらは記事掲載)、30年くらい前のファミリアGTの走りを知っているのでテスターにとってはとても物足りないパワートレインです。

{普通のアクアと思えばいい走り}
試乗開始からエンジンに過大な期待をする車ではないことが分かりましたので、試乗は燃費重視の走りにしました。
低速域はもちろん中速域でも丁寧な運転を心がけました。

アクセルペダルに対する反応はアクアＸアーバンで認識したように昔のアクアと比べるととても佳くなっているので、ある程度違和感ない走りだと思いました。
が、「すべての人に、スポーツカーのある楽しさを。」というキャッチコピーに対して勝手な期待をしていたテスターとしては残念です。
絶対性能が高いことがスポーツカーの定義ではないと思っています。
限界は低くてもドライバーがその気になる走りが出来ればそれでいいと。
アクアG'sはそのレベルに達しているとはエンジンの面では思えませんでした。

もちろん、G'sが目指している姿が見た目だけスポーツカーで、その他はすべて優しく走ることに徹した作りであるかもしれませんから、車の楽しみ方としてあって当然だと思います。
ただ、86間で走りをつい今日しないけれど少しは運転を楽しめる車が欲しいユーザーにも答えてもらえればいいのにと思っています。

{ちょっと夢想}
ハイブリッド専用車なので望めないことですが、例えば、
ヴィッツRSのエンジンをチューニングして更にボルトオンでターボチャージャーを装着。
きっと佳い走りをするでしょうね－。

テスターの個人的好みですが、ヴィッツは現行よりひとつ前の第２世代が好きでした。
そう思うせいか丸っこいアクアに元気なエンジンを搭載して走らせてみたいと思いました。
確かヴィッツはTRDだったかボルトオンターボ仕様をトヨタの店で受注生産したことがありましたよね。

横道にそれますが、同じような時期にカローラGTとしてボルトオンターボも出したような。
電話口で見るだけならと言われてカローラのお店に行き、とても欲しそうな顔をしていたのだと思いますが、カタログをあげると言っていただき、ありがたくいただいて帰ったことを思い出しました。
